Thomas Martin-Wells obtained a doctorate in chemistry before starting his business, Slake Spirits, as a distiller of fine foraged spirits in Shoreham-by-Sea, West Sussex. He specialises in foraging for aromatic botanicals to make unique and geographic/habitat specific flavoured distillates. The ingredients and knowledge are used to make a range of spirits e.g. Sussex hedgerow gin and coastal absinthe.
