Biography

Vickie Shufer is an herbalist and wild foods forager with a Master’s Degree in Therapeutic Herbalism. She teaches classes on edible and medicinal plants and was the editor and publisher of The Wild Foods Forum newsletter from 1994-2014. She also has a 16-acre native nursery in northeastern North Carolina where she grows forest botanicals that are sold as plants and products, including yaupon holly tea, believed to be the only plant in North America with caffeine in its leaves.
