Woodcraft School



John is a naturalist, woodsman and certified wildlife tracker, he is both founder and head instructor at Woodcraft School. With an impressive pedigree in his chosen subject field which began with full time teaching away back in 1997. John has a keen interest in ethnobotany and has thorough knowledge in a number of traditional uses for plants, trees and fungi ranging from bark work to wild food and medicine. He also holds a University certificate in Species Identification and Biological Recording specialising in mammals, reptiles, bats, fungi and woodland plants. John has been endorsed as an instructor in natural navigation techniques through Tristan Gooley and his school of natural navigation. He is a gifted naturalist not only with plants but also wildlife and wildlife tracking and is a track and sign specialist having scored 100% on a specialist evaluation (this is the highest assessed level possible within the international CyberTracker system) and has begun training as an evaluator. Together with his teaching activities John also writes and has and does feature in a number of publications.
