Philip is mapping the abundance and occupancy of wild/feral edibles in urban environments, testing soils and plant tissue for toxics, leading educational walk and collaborating with farmers and chefs to reintroduce traditional foods. He is also the director of Berkeley Open Source Food. Working to change regulations and public policy to allow foraging of non-native invasives on public land. Also working on "edible college campus" certification standards.
