Foraging Teacher

Grunewald Foraging

Jonathan is a forager and also a student of wild plants, fungi and the natural world. He hosts foraging walks in Berlin-Brandenburg in Germany, and works internationally wherever his enthusiasm for wild edibles can be put to use. Admittedly more a grazer than an ingenious wild food chef, he is fascinated most of all by the role that edible plants, mushrooms, nuts and fruits have played in our diet up until the Industrial Revolution, and, happily, beyond. Tending to have several themes on the go at once, he is currently preoccupied with the concept of wild raw materials, such as natural thread and cordage from plants such as honeysuckle, clematis, lime and nettle.
